Inquiring Minds Want to Know…What happened at Next Internet Millionaire Shoot?
Hi GutZy Women (and the Brave Men who Love Us!),This is the first NEWS I’ve sent out since returning from the set of Next Internet Millionaire AND the very first post in my BRAND NEW BLOG! Many of you have been waiting with baited breath to hear what happened…
I’m a Jacuzzi freak because I’ve discovered it is where I do my best thinking. Well, I haven’t had a Jacuzzi of my own for about a year and a half, so I do the next best thing… I go bicycling (which actually burns calories instead of burning skin…so probably is a lot better for me anyway.)
This last Sunday morning I felt the need to go for that ride and now I know why.
The first episode of Next Internet Millionaire, the web’s FIRST Internet Marketing Reality Show went LIVE last Friday. I was chosen among hundreds of others across the world to take part as one of the top 12 contestants in this “Apprentice” type production made specifically for the internet.
Although I’m very good at individual sports and taking risks doing crazy things, I’m NOT very good at playing games, a trait that is not well received in our competitive society. But in this competition, I saw an opportunity to spread the word about MY PASSION of economic development for women and their families and to warpspeed the growth of my new business which is totally aligned with my passion.
You see, I made a decision back in 2000 that all the new technology and the internet held the KEY to PROSPERITY & FREEDOM for women across the world…including me. So I started learning how to use it and this last May I gave birth to my NEW BABY by the name of GutZy Women, LLC. This baby of mine now takes mypassion a step further by teaching OTHER WOMEN what I have learned in the hopes of spreading the seed of ABUNDANCE.
So when Next Internet Millionaire came along, I thought what the heck…I’m a GutZy Woman…it’s worth a shot and what’s the worst that can happen?
Well, after watching the first episode, and the comments on the online forums, my “bubble” burst quickly because I was one of the first eliminated (well not really because Carly and I were “sandboxed”, which means we will be given another chance) but it was pretty rough to experience it in front of the world, not only for me and Carly, but for those watching as well…especially those who know and love us!
The desire to defend myself became overwhelming and yet because we all signed a very strict Non-Disclosure Agreement, I felt frustrated beyond belief.
I was feeling like a loser …that’s why I’m bringing up the bike ride.
Miracles happen when you just ask to see things differently…and this last Sunday morning, as I rode my bike on the Nature Center Trail, one of the Crown Jewels of Pueblo, as it winds beside the Arkansas River in all of its’ green riparian glory, a miracle happened!I was shown the BIG PICTURE and this is what it looked like…
My part in this competition ISN’T ABOUT ME.
Although it may seem shallow to you, this historical event, this “reality show”, this GAME is really about the game of life and how we each choose to live it, perceive it and deal with our challenges.
For me…
* It’s about paving the way for women and those who depend on them. Young women (and young men of course) are our future. I want better for them than we have had. I believe the internet can help and that I have a part in moving things forward. * It’s about standing up for what you believe in even when others don’t see it or believe it. Many women as well as men are totally uncomfortable when singled out as having different needs and challenges. And yet there’s no getting around it…WE ARE DIFFERENT! I advocate for women because of my life experience and will continue ’til the day I die. So shoot me 
* It’s about looking at what society defines as success versus what we each personally define as success and not giving into the pressure to take someone else out in order for you to stay in. I don’t bash men (unless they’re blatantly chauvinistic) because I believe we can and must work TOGETHER to change the world. My research shows that women are motivated more by being of service to others, especially family, than by money. It also shows that women as a group tend to push for a win-win rather than a win-lose.
That’s where I’m at, regardless.
* It’s about believing so strongly in yourself and your purpose that you’re willing to hold yourself up to criticism, put your reputation at risk and swallow your desire to defend yourself. The universe has a way of working things out if you believe strongly and take action.
As they say…”Women who behave themselves rarely make history!”
*It’s about looking at your weaknesses and failures straight in the eye, forgiving them and stepping up to the plate once again. AND again…AND again…
AND SOOOOOO…
As this show unfolds over the next few months, I encourage you to set aside some time, get on your computer instead of your TV and watch each episode with a keen eye to what’s REALLY happening. Although the main purpose is sheer entertainment, if you like to study people, experience emotion and root for the underdog, it’s WORTH the RIDE!
Feel the PAIN as cast members are chastised for their mistakes. It IS part of the human experience that we’ve all lived! Failure is only failure when you allow it to be and you give up.
Take part in the forum to offer ENCOURAGEMENT to those you are rooting for. Offer your experience and expertise about how you overcame such challenges. Send them advice on how they can use what they’ve just gone through to be better in the future.
Feel the EXCITEMENT of the game and the THRILL of the WIN. Then e-mail those who did things well and congratulate them…Encourage them to spread their talents and skills across the world. Check out their websites, offer to joint venture or promote with those you are simpatico with, have the same market as or want to learn from.
LAUGH at the HUMOROUS antics the cast members display in heaps throughout the show! Both the obvious and the sly humor is plentiful! You’ll be shaking your head and grinning at this cast of FUNLOVING & UNUSUAL individuals! Each one is AMAZING once you get to know them.
LEARN about internet marketing as well as traditional marketing…not in depth, of course, but what if you get just one idea from the”Guru’s”, the Judges or from the “Challenge” presentations that will be worth CASH in YOUR POCKET? At the very least, you’ll get to see who these guys are and what they have to offer, and then YOU can decide for yourself who you might choose to align your marketing with.
I know I learned TONS! I will be using that knowledge myself and will be passing it on to BABYBOOMER BUSINESS WOMEN & WORK at HOME MOMS who decide to align themselves with other GutZy Women; Women, and the men who love them, who want information & support to get over the fear of technology, online marketing and self-promotion at their own pace in order to create the lifestyle that’s best for themselves and their families.Now THAT’S the BIG PICTURE I’m talkin’ about! EXPERIENCE IT and become a part of it!
