The GutZy Women International Mastermind Alliance Teleseminar - Webcast or “Simulcast” series started last week and will continue once a week with a different guest for the rest of the summer to enhance the visibility of what successful women are doing across the world.

These are Patti’s own words…

“In all my years of working in the surfing industry we adopted some of the same laws of nature to do business.

The ebb and flow of the tides and swells is a simple way of looking at the way you can create new business. The natural way to be out in the water surfing was to “share” or give up a wave knowing that the waves come in sets or 3 or 4 at a time. In each set there was always a bigger one than the others.

You could take the first or second wave of the set and have fun or you could share the set and wait for the “BIG ONE.” Such as it is in business today. People are sharing information on the internet through blogging and podcasting and becoming experts in their field. Through this sharing comes new business or “the big one.”

Also, organic marketing can come from the natural, back to the basic way meeting people and making friends. Meeting in smaller groups to get to know the person better helps the business relationship grow.

Many large mega churches are forming smaller groups with this theory in mind. A small business can set a goal to get out to a small event once a week and watch their business grow though this tried and true method.

Patti is a serial entrepreneur who has built more than a few successful small businesses as well as train others to follow her methods.

How to Massively Increase the Power of Giveaways by Creating Awesome Alliances to Build Your List & Credibility

Add to Technorati Favorites

Free Giveaways or Bonus Gifts (”ethical bribes”, as Alex Mandossian would call them) are almost a necessity these days for anyone looking to increase the number of people (prospective customers, donors, customers, clients) to opt in to their lists.

Everyone likes getting stuff for free if they perceive some value in it. Free is such a powerful force in innovation, especially online.

One innovation that sprung from the idea of individual “gifts” is “giveaway events” and they have now taken the internet by storm.

What is a Giveaway Event?

When several to hundreds of people or entities contribute products or services as free gifts for other people who visit a website that might be promoting a product launch, a new service, a particular promotion, then it’s considered a giveaway event.

For people to receive each giveaway item, they must subscribe to the contributor’s mailing list. Done correctly and depending on the quality or perceived value of the gifts they offer, the contributors can build their lists exponentially in a much faster period of time than if they were to do it on their own.

That’s why Giveaway Events are such a GREAT idea for those just starting out!

Although giveaway events greatly benefit “newbies”, ANYONE can benefit from them, all the way up to multibillion dollar corporations or international non-profits.

Each contributor agrees to send traffic to the event website site so every contributor benefits from the mailing list of each other contributors (also known as Joint Venture Partners or JV Partners). The gifts you give can either be your own product or service or it can be a gift you own the rights to give away for free.

The event organizers send you instructions and promotion materials such as sample email messages, endorsement letters and sponsored ads to use in endorsing this give away event to your subscribers who are already subscribed to your mailing list. Again, if your list is small, you can always team up with a colleague or a mastermind group of people you like and trust and present a united front…VERY POWERFUL!

That’s exactly what I did when I received an email from Chet Holmes International informing me of their MASSIVE Giveaway Event that kicks off TOMORROW, June 4th

After experiencing first-hand the power of their big event last year, I knew I’d be crazy not to take part once again. As I thought about whom I could partner with, it occurred to me that this event would tie in nicely with my 2008 goal of raising the visibility of women, their businesses, products, services or causes on the Internet.

So I put out a call for women who were interested in joining me and it’s an AMAZING group of women from all over the world who are movers and shakers who have INCREDIBLE gifts to give!

We’re calling it the GutZy Women International Mastermind Alliance and we invite you to take part in this EVE-olution by checking out the Event website. It will fill you in on all the details.

So What’s Age or Gender Got to do With Technology and the Internet?

Maybe things don’t come so fast and easy to us “Grannies” when it comes to the technical parts of making things happen with all this Web 2.0 stuff. We need some hand holding for sure. When I got started online, there weren’t many women outthere willing or able to teach and mentor. So naturally, I learned from men, most ofthem under the age of 40. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but since us “Grannies” are already intimidated by computers and technology, these guys tended to make us feel even worse about our ability to grasp and carry out the essential actions needed to be successful in this new online world. Every now and then we lucked out and found a guy who would be patient with us and walk us through.

For those unique individuals we are forever grateful!

Because once we started catching on, the ripple effect is now taking hold with a vengeance! Not only are we “Grannies” coming out of the virtual woodworks, but we’re teaching and training others like mad! Baby boomer women, as well as their Mom’s, are now gaining the confidence and skills they need to at least enjoy all that this virtual world has to offer!  Some are even discovering how to benefit financially, personally, or spiritually from all the new Web 2.0 capabilities as well as the proliferation of all the new “fast and easy” software.

A FEW EXAMPLES OF LEADING GRANNIES:

For example, my friend and mentor, Patti Serrano, AKA “La Gringa”, “Call Your Grandma”, “Patti–with-an-i” and Entrepreneur Club Founder, started out her online journey podcasting because of her previous experience in and love of radio. That led her to blogging, live video broadcasting and twittering like a madwoman.

Here is an over 60 woman who started out teaching more traditional guerilla marketing and live networking strategies of business building, public speaking, etc. Now you can find her at a local internet café and on the phone walking women step by step through the process of setting up their own blogs and podcasts!  Now Patti’s bringing in other trainers to cover all aspects of business building in events such as All Day Think Tanks  (First is in Colorado Springs this weekend!) and Seminars at Sea, both of which I will be participating in as the Internet Marketing Coach.

Talk about a mover and a shaker!

She has had to overcome walls of resistance, hours of research and learning, and hundreds of hours of actual practice, but she now she’s an inspiration to young and old alike!

Another example is a woman who found me through social networking: “Techno Granny” is her online handle. Joanne Quinn-Smith is owner of Dreamweaver Marketing Associates, as well as President of National Association of Women Business Owners, Greater Pittsburgh Chapter. She also hosts several talk casts, including “Positively Pittsburgh Live”, “Techno Granny” and “Professionals with Impact.” The Techno Granny Show was initiated to bring baby boomers and beyond up to snuff with 21st Century technology. Now Techno Granny is committed to providing technology information from developers and users and tries to translate it always in simple to understand terms. She’s having a great impact on women in the business world by encouraging them to join her on her technology journey.

Grannies Unite!

By working together, co-promoting, and networking to spread the word and lead the way, the beauty and necessity of communication technology in facilitating small business success, creative outlets and support systems, becomes more apparent to the “resistant” generations and we are excited to see the fruits of our labor multiplying at a faster rate, which for “Grannies” like us “tickle us pink”! We would LOVE to discover the older women YOU KNOW who are leading the way as well, so you’re invited and encouraged to join in. Your input and feedback can be written in the comment section below or you can call us or write us an email.

After all we can always use a few more GutZy Women!

Young Entrepreneurial Women Fear Technology? - Video Part 2

Add to Technorati Favorites

SNtx1wjaNz4

Debbie Ducic of GutZy Women asks the question of Tisha Casida, owner of That’s Natural Marketing, and Kimberly Schaub who owns Thrive Lifestyles, two young entrepreneurial women, about the theory that young women aren’t afraid of technology because they were brought up with it since middle school.

This is part 2 in a series of 4 bringing a younger perspective into GutZy Women’s community.

Debbie discovered Tisha & Kimberly disagreed with that theory stating that the technology world is moving so fast they find it very hard for anyone to keep up. The discussion then moves on to how finding mentors, teachers and trainers helps them move forward EASIER and FASTER, even though they both hired out their own websites. They talk about how they hired local people like Patti Serrano of the Entrepreneur Club, as well as wanting to sign up online for courses and informational products about strategies, tips and tools to increase their online marketing mix…especially for topics like social networking, podcasting and video.

Debbie shares her belief that one of the best ways to learn is to sign up for workshops and step-by-step programs online that other professional women are offering that make things so much  FASTER  and EASIER that they’ll kick themselves for not taking action sooner, struggling on their own or paying an arm and a leg for someone else to do the work for them.

After doing much research and having first hand experience, here are the programs and mentor membership sites GutZy Women recommends, offered by women who are Tops in the industry:

1. Visit Janet Beckers at WonderfulWebWomen.com

2. Visit Christina Hills at ShoppingCartQueen.com

3. Visit Diane Corriette at WomenInternetMarketers.com
