USTREAM Vidcast

My previous article set the stage for when good intentions aren’t God’s intentions and how the universe knows better than we do.

It was a beautiful day and Nathan Anderson, founder of SEO Club, lives around one of the most beautiful spots in the world! He invited me at the last minute to join him for his first “public” Vidcast on his back deck overlooking an amazing setting of Red Rock, Green Cedars and Blue Sky.

This was going to be FUN! It’s why I LOVE Web 2.0 and I was really looking forward to it! But as it is often said…”Easier Said than Done”.

One has to accept the fact that the only way people can take part in an event such as Nathan was holding, is to have a working connection to the Internet from such a remote location as North Creek Road in Beulah,Colorado, which normally isn’t a problem… except for today.

Not to worry! To make a living at Internet marketing in such a place, one must also have backup, in case the initial connection dies for reasons beyond your control (like the service provider screws up).

The Verizon PC card to the rescue, or so we thought. We jumped in my convertible and headed to the highest spot on the mountain that Nathan knew of to get a signal. YAY…we got connected, to the internet that is. But to no avail when some sort of conflict appeared with how the PC card worked with the software Ustream uses to broadcast live.

DRAT! Foiled again.

Like two little puppy dogs with our tails between our legs, we headed back to the ranch.

Bummer Dudes & Dudettes! :(

Feeling bad about the 8,000 people Nathan invited, especially for his first SEO Club live public broadcast, he gave in to the forces that be and accepted the fact that at least he was able to send word of what happened to a friend from our mountain top…to inform those on his list.

“So what did this all mean, Universe?”, I was saying to myself on my drive back to my office to write my daily blog. And the Universe answered back, “Another chance, my dear Deb, on another day.”

And so it was and so it shall be…

NEXT WEEK as a matter of fact, is our second chance…OURS and YOURS! Why yours, you might ask?

Cuz, you didn’t even know about this FUN & FABULOUS event before…

and now YOU DO!

COME JOIN US! LIVE!

SEO Club with Nathan Anderson presents… SEO Club Live!

Every Friday at 4pm Eastern.
(That’s 3pm Central, 2pm Mountain, or 1pm Pacific)

We’re going to have FUN. The more the merrier, I always say!

(Oh, I just realized another gift I got from this day! I mean, what could I have written about on my blog today that would have had such an ENLIGHTENING message, if everything would have worked out as originally planned? The universe is truly amazing, is it not? Be in the NOW and truly LIVE!)

GutZy Women Think RSS Feeds are a Beautiful Thing!

Add to Technorati Favorites

The importance and need for RSS feeds ties in with the inundation of information that we are all experiencing at the same time that we are all getting busier…especially those of us who are into online and offline social networking.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and the feed works two ways:

Publish an article, podcast or video on a blog or other websites and shoots it out to the feed aggregators. Then they shoot it out to all types of end readers or listeners.

End users choose how info comes to them: RSS feed reader or e-mail,or in the case of podcasts, the Apple i-tunes store. There are Links to content, partial or full text on a page or now can look like website pages right from the inbox.

Techno Granny & GutZy Woman Talk RSS Feeds

Add to Technorati Favorites

RSS Feed Sounds Like a Name for a Company that Sells Feed for Livestock.

Web 2.0 lingo just keeps getting weirder. What the heck is RSS, now? No wonder the “common folk” roll their eyes, cross their arms and look at
“web savvy” folk like they’re from another planet! The “techies” try to convince
everybody that each new internet communication capability is a MUST HAVE
in order to compete for eyeballs and dollars.

Naturally, the more that’s bombarding us, the more we curl into the
“rolly polly bug” position in order to protect ourselves from the stress
of being overwhelmed or made to look stupid. I totally understand!
My family worries about me when Im curled up in the fetal position
in my bed after a long night spent in front of my computer.

But here’s the deal: When we perceive something as difficult, we put up
barriers to understanding…especially if NEW WORDS or names we’re
not familiar with are involved. For example…I remember when FAX machines
first came out. What the heck was it and how in the world did it work?

One thing for sure is that it changed the way we did business. It made
commerce, legalities and communication faster and easier to conduct across
space and time like no other. Now, they’re practically extinct because of
internet technology. And if you thought faxing was easy and fast, wait
’til you see what RSS FEED technology can do!

Even the name itself conveys the fact that RSS can SIMPLIFY your life!
It stands for “Really Simple Syndication” and once you see what it can
do for YOU, you’ll be extremely motivated to add it to your online strategy!

Just listen to Joanne Quinn-Smith , AKA  Techno Granny, and Debbie
Ducic, AKA GutZy Woman as they discuss what RSS is, how you use it
and what the benefits are.  If you don’t “unroll” and open up to it and then
implement it, you’re CRAZY!

Just listen to the “podcast”  below by clicking on the green square to start
the recording, sit back and hear these two these “babyboomers”  get excited
about the possibilities! If you listen well, YOU can’t help from be excited too!

If you’re not, then be prepared to “roll into oblivion”!
