What Would You Do IF Your Websites Disappeared?

Add to Technorati Favorites

Dear Women (and Brave Men) of GutZ, BrainZ & HeartZ,

When I heard that Janet Beckers, Founder of Wonderful Web Women, totally lost all of her websites…and I’m talkin’ GONE…because her website provider just DISAPPEARED, I had a couple of reactions.

1. Since she is a friend and colleague of mine, my heart went out to her because after having been an internet marketer and “evangelist” for over 10 years, this happening is like your worst NIGHTMARE!

2. I got nervous because there is so much content on my GutZy Women website that if that were to happen to me…I would have a heart attack! That is YEARS of work!

So as I followed how she and her incredible team were going to deal with it, I was in AWE of how Janet, in particular, overcame such a wrenching experience!

After screaming, crying and bemoaning her fate, she got right back up and turned lemons into lemonade. (Actually she went even a step further and turned it into Margaritas…now that’s the kind of GutZy Woman I’m talkin’ about ;)

Janet Beckers Wonderful Web Women

Her story is all over the place…on her website, on her blog, etc. So I’m not going to repeat all the details. But what I want to bring to your attention is the fact that she will be taking what she learned from this horrifying experience and showing YOU and me how to not make the same mistake!

So if you have a website or two…I would highly recommend that you listen to what Janet and her Geekess Supreme, Charly Leetham, have to offer in the way of preventing that from happening to us and what to do if (God forbid) it does.

The teleclass is LIVE tonight in the US and Tuesday morning in Australia. It’s free…so if this is something that can be extremely valuable to you…These two ladies KNOW whereof they speak!

“This will be my first Christmas in 31 years with out my husband. He left in April.. I am having a hard time imaging waking up on Christmas morning with out him and all the magic of the holiday. Our wedding anniversary is two days after Christmas. It was always a very special time for us. I am making plans but I know I will be alone on Christmas morning.”…

Single Again Mentoring

That comment is a real comment from a concerned reader posted on my dear friend, Joanie Winberg, Founder of The National Association for Divorced Women and Children’s blog offering “Five Things Not to Do  After Divorce During the Holidays!”  Do you suppose Darlene is wondering how she is going to handle this whole situation she finds herself in?

I totally believe in the innate ability of women to overcome their emotional and financial challenges with flying colors, but very few of us can or even want to do it on our own. That’s why Darlene or anyone facing similar challenges will find a friend, mentor and powerful resource in Joanie and her universe of sincere, knowledgeable and caring experts!

This is Joanie’s personal experience:

“After my divorce, I not only had to adjust to being a single mom of two children, ages twelve and nine at the time, I also had to learn how to do the once shared to-do list on my own, plus start thinking about a new career.

At times, I felt so overwhelmed and tired with all the new challenges and wondered many times, how I can continue to do it all.

One day, I had a huge wake-up call, when one of my friends said to me, “If you crumble, so will your children.” That’s all I needed to hear. From that day forward, I realized I had to take care of myself and get the support I needed in order to be the best I could be for my children as well as for myself.”

That was the catalyst that started Joanie on the road, not only to her own personal and professional success, but over the years she has helped so many other women and children do the same!

Which is why, after knowing her and watching her in action over the last couple of years, I am proud to recommend her NEW 12 Week Mentoring Program as an affiliate and as a believer in her ability to get people back on track!

The effects of divorce on an individual are as varied as individuals themselves and the circumstances that lead to the dissolution of their marriages. While there are many negative effects of divorce, there are positive effects too. The choice to end a marriage is deeply personal. Whether the decision to divorce is yours, your spouse’s or a mutual agreement, you have the power to minimize the negative effects and accentuate the positive.

Some of the emotional and physical effects of divorce on an individual are:
Negative
- Fear
- Guilt
- A sense of failure
- Physical exhaustion
- Depression
- Anger
- Separation anxiety
- Weight loss or gain
- Isolation
- A loss of trust
- Poor self-esteem

Positive
- A sense of freedom
- A renewed sense of self worth
- Relief
- Resolution
- Closure
- Safety
- Accomplishment
- A sense of empowerment

The realities of divorce for individuals often include:
- Financial stress
- Relocation
- Separation
- Division of property
- Child care and visitation issues
- Legal issues defining the parameters of a divorce

So…if you find yourself Single Again and are asking yourself …”Now What?”

  • Establish a strong support system and maintain it before, during and after a divorce
  • Assess and develop the skills necessary to thrive
  • Move ahead with Purpose, Vision and Goals

My passion over the last 30 years has been to help women and their families create more freedom and abundance in their lives. I’ve done that by providing access to people and resources that will help them do just that. Joanie Winberg and her Mentoring Program for Single Again Women along with the High 5 Club, of which I am a part, is a great resource for anyone looking for answers to some tough questions, regardless of whether they invest in the program or not.

My Dream Comes True…28 Years Later!

Have you ever visited a place and loved it so much you said to yourself and/or others you wanted to go back and live there someday?

That thought stays in the back of your mind, popping up every now and then,  wondering if there will ever be a right time to actually make it happen. The “can’ts”, “not nows”, or “just dreaming” tend to take over when jobs, businesses, kids, older family, homes, money, health issues or other responsibilities take priority compared to making dreams happen.

I’ve lived my share of that mind game. Although I’ve taken a lot of risks throughout my life in order to live it on my terms, I’ve also backed down a lot because I had certain responsibilities to others as a result of the choices I had made. We all do trade offs…especially when we give life to other human beings and raise them as best we can.

While doing that, we get sucked into bigger homes with mortgages, multiple cars with monthly payments, lots of toys that just  get more expensive as the kids and we grow older. Year after year we just accumulate more “stuff” and it starts to weigh us down. Under that weight, it just seems like too much trouble to move anywhere else or too hard to change the lifestyle we’ve developed. So sometimes our dreams get dimmer and we decide that maybe they were just silly ideas of our younger days.

Well, I’m here to tell you that sometimes dreams actually come true when these three ingredients are in place… TIMING, FOCUS and GutZ.

Timing is HUGE! It’s Why You Don’t Give Up on Your Dreams

Several years ago, when we made the move from Beulah to Pueblo, we made the conscious decision to RENT a home as opposed to buying one. Why? So that we could be free to move if the opportunity came up. Since my Hubby has never really like Pueblo, we figured the time would come.

I honestly am not a very good home owner even though I’ve studied the money game for many years and know the benefits of home ownership versus renting. I like the freedom that comes with non-ownership.

So when my daughter graduated from high school last spring and moved into her own place with a job and college classes, my hubby and I looked at each other and said, “OK, so where will we move to?”. We discussed other cities in Colorado, California, Utah, Washington and Idaho, but nothing really excited us.

All of a sudden I remembered (drum roll, please…)
What about Australia?

Ever since Joe sent me a ticket to come visit him in Australia for 3 weeks after we first met in Keystone, Colorado, I’ve wanted to go back to experience the beaches, food and people of that magical land down under! I advised my hubby to keep his Australian citizenship even after we got married, JUST IN CASE we might want to move there some day.

Well, after 28 years, it seemed  the right time and circumstances had appeared!

Since our son was now 24 with no positive prospects for jobs or ANY other worthwhile opportunities in Pueblo and my daughter graduated and wanting to be out on her own, as well as an economy seeing its’ worst days since the Great Depression…Hey it just seemed like the PERFECT TIME to move on and take the plunge.

The Law of Attraction is an AMAZING thing!

It didn’t take long at all to put the request out into the universe and get back the answer, once we determined to FOCUS on that goal. In fact it was SCARY it was so fast and easy!

Joe asked his old ski buddy who lives and works as a ski instructor in Colorado and Australia if he knew of anyone we could stay with or rent from until we could check things out and the answer was YES…HIS PLACE! We went up to Aspen shortly thereafter to celebrate our friend’s 60th birthday and negotiated the details with him and his wife.

The GutZy Women International Mastermind Alliance Teleseminar - Webcast or “Simulcast” series started last week and will continue once a week with a different guest for the rest of the summer to enhance the visibility of what successful women are doing across the world.

These are Patti’s own words…

“In all my years of working in the surfing industry we adopted some of the same laws of nature to do business.

The ebb and flow of the tides and swells is a simple way of looking at the way you can create new business. The natural way to be out in the water surfing was to “share” or give up a wave knowing that the waves come in sets or 3 or 4 at a time. In each set there was always a bigger one than the others.

You could take the first or second wave of the set and have fun or you could share the set and wait for the “BIG ONE.” Such as it is in business today. People are sharing information on the internet through blogging and podcasting and becoming experts in their field. Through this sharing comes new business or “the big one.”

Also, organic marketing can come from the natural, back to the basic way meeting people and making friends. Meeting in smaller groups to get to know the person better helps the business relationship grow.

Many large mega churches are forming smaller groups with this theory in mind. A small business can set a goal to get out to a small event once a week and watch their business grow though this tried and true method.

Patti is a serial entrepreneur who has built more than a few successful small businesses as well as train others to follow her methods.
